Here we are... middle of the summer and not a single Class of 2026 Senior blog post
to be seen. I promised myself I would be better about posting these.
Alas... better late than never I suppose.
I would walk 500 miles
We started our day on King Street, which should have been a pretty easy walk for a Tuesday in Charleston, but this wasn't just any Tuesday. No, we had inadvertently booked her session on St. Patrick's Day. Did you know the city of Charleston goes all out for St. Patrick's Day? Like... ALL OUT.
There wasn't a parking spot to be found within a mile of our first photo stop. Thankfully, I had my trusty purple wagon to help transport all the session necessities all over the downtown Charleston area.
LilyCait's dad dropped her and her mom off outside of LoveShackFancy and we got to work. We dodged people, waited for crowds to pass, and honestly made the most of a crowded King Street... and it paid off!
LilyCait and I made our way toward Rainbow Row on foot while her family went on the hunt for another parking spot. She was an absolute champion in her gorg pearl high heels as we traipsed around, stopping at any spot that caught our eye.
We didn't linger on Rainbow Row long. There were photo shoots galore going on up and down the iconic lane, so we snapped a few shots then made our way down to the waterfront. There we took advantage of the beautiful flower beds before popping the tent up and doing a quick outfit change!
LilyCait's dad was our hero of the day because without him, we would've been carrying around my pop-up tent at full size for the rest of the day. The pop-up tent continues to best me...
The waterfront was also the perfect time to take a video break, where we recreated an iconic scene from Princess Diaries, one of LilyCait's favorite movies!
One more outfit change using my nemesis, the pop-up tent, set us on the way to Cap+Gown photos in another part of town.
Cap + Gown
It was the time we'd all been looking forward to... THE cap and gown photos! LilyCait chose her own Cap and Gown, so obviously she went with PINK!
We decided on the beautiful French Huguenot Church in Charleston for its complementary facade. The walk there was... grueling. But thankfully the later it got, the cooler the weather became. I was only slightly sweating to death.
We utilized every angle of this beautiful, historic landmark and were able to create some iconic photos along the way!
What a day
Definitely learned my lesson about checking the calendar
